Summary: "You said you loved me, right?"
He kissed her. At his own home, where she practically lived now. He had promised himself not to do this, since the marriage was going to be over soon. And she promised not to get so overwhelmed as soon as she moaned into his mouth. He pulled away.
"I am so sorry. I'm sorry," he said.
"What do you have to be sorry for?"
"Well, you're obviously mad and--"
Liz pulled away the covers from her bed and Jack saw that she was wearing a nightie.
"There's no way in hell that you bought that, Lemon."
"Well, yeah. I can say that. But wait, you said that you loved me, right?"
The moments of that memory flashed in his eyes. It was that one day when he was talking to Avery.
"And who is she now? Is she your girlfriend?" she asked.
"No. She's my wife."
"Oh, great! Another Mrs. Donaghy. Hasn't she had the feel of being a Donaghy once already?"
"Yes, but that was a mistake."
"Still is now," Liz thought.
"So?! What do you see in her, Jack?!"
"She's...challenging. I like how we brush our teeth in the morning. It's what we do everyday, but there's always something special to it. I like how she doesn't say I'm stupid when I watch those shows on Animal Planet. She laughs with me. And I know I couldn't live without her by my side. So, of course, we were best friends. But, I wanted to take it to the next level. So, I married her."
"And...?"
"And what?"
Avery scoffed.
"Oh, please. Like you love her."
Jack saw Liz peeking at the door.
"I do. With all of my heart," he said, locking eyes with Liz.
"You said you loved me, right?" Liz repeated.
"Well, yes. I do. But you said we could have an annulment since this marriage was after all, a fake."
"Okay, show me that you love me."
"What?" He looked dumbfounded.
"Show me that you love me," Liz said, stepping closer to him.
"No," he said, before pausing, "I can't have sex with you here. I hate this bed."
"You don't think I do too?"
"Oh, Lemon. You'll always be like this."
"Alright, alright. Now shut up and kiss me."
She woke up in Jack's bed, with Jack spooning her. She chuckled remembering the event that happened earlier. But wait, Jack loved her. Does she...love him? After all, his only reason to marry her was because he felt the need to since all the other executives were married. She got off the bed gently, and put one of his dress shirts on. She went to the kitchen to get herself some chocolate and vanilla ice cream.
"Lemon, is that you?" Jack asked, when he was making his way to the kitchen.
"Yeah, it's me. Want some ice cream?"
"No, I don't want chocolate...or vanilla. I want strawberry."
"Strawberry? I didn't take you for a strawberry kind of guy, Jack."
"I'm not. I just chose strawberry, so I could do this."
Jack took one spoonful of the ice cream and kissed Liz.
"Mmm. Tastes kind of like Neapolitan."
"Lemon, have you ever done it on a kitchen counter?"
"Can't say I have, no."
Shit, was she flirting with him?
"Just seeing you in one of my dress shirts...you look..."
"Sexy?" Liz bit her lip, "I know."
"Hey guys!" Liz said as she walked in the writers room, smiling, with a box of donuts.
"Hey, Liz...what's up?"
"I bought you guys donuts!"
"Did you...poison this?"
"Noo!!! Can't someone just be happy?"
Liz walked off, with that smile still on her face.
Jenna walked in the writers room shortly after.
"Hey, where's Liz?"
"Office. She looks so happy for some reason."
"Happy? Oh my gosh. LIZ!"
"Hey, Jenna!" Liz said, as Jenna walked in her office.
"You did it with Jack!"
Liz blushed.
"Oh my gosh, Liz! How many times last night?"
"It wasn't just last night, Jenna! It was two nights ago."
"Tell me! Tell me all about it!"
"Okay, so Jack and I were at this ball for something and it was a hotel...and well, I was pretty drunk and I told him to get us a room and we did. The next night, five times. On his bed, the kitchen counter, the kitchen floor, the table, and the couch. This morning....the bed, the elevator...and his desk."
"Nine times in 3 days?! Damn, can I borrow him?!"
Liz just laughed.
