"Fake" Wedding

Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Tina's characters
Spoilers: I don't know, maybe the upcoming "Mrs. Donaghy"
Pairing: Jack/Liz
Summary: I don't wanna give it away!

Liz woke up, seeing Jack staring at her.
"Hiya, Jack."
"Hey, Lemon."
"Is today the day?"
"Yes, yes it is."
"What do I wear?"
"Well, I didn't have enough time to buy you a dress for the rehearsal, so I will let you use my white shirt and then I'm pretty sure you can have a veil."
"Why did you choose me again for rehearsal?"
"I didn't, remember? Avery did, and I agreed. She had to cancel our wedding plans to go to Canada and do a report on whatever she's doing."
"Ah, sure. But, wait. It's bad luck to see the bride on the day of the wedding!"
Jack gasped.
"Oh, no!! Well, in that case, goodbye future wife! I'll see you at the wedding!"
Jack kissed her, and Liz smiled.
As Jack got out of the door, she put on his white shirt and it just reached above her knee. She got a piece of white, transparent cloth, and put it on her head.
"Mrs. Donaghy?" someone asked.
"Yes?" Liz replied.
"Would you need--that's your wedding dress?"
"We didn't have time. But do I look pretty?"
"Let me fix that."
The maid helped Liz with her makeup and got some flowers for her.
"Um, Rachel?"
"Oui, madam?"
"Would you like to be a bridesmaid?"
"I would be honored to, Mrs. Donaghy."
It was finally time.
The bridesmaids made their way to the front. Jenna, with Kenneth. Cerie, with some executive and Rachel the maid with her dog.
Liz's parents couldn't make it, so Colleen offered to walk with her.
"Even though I know you two did it last night, I know this will work."
When they finally reached the front, Jack was smiling, in the warm, Caribbean sun.
"We are gathered here today..." the captain of the ship started.
"...and now their vows. Elizabeth?"
Liz read off Avery's script.
"Jack, I'm only marrying you because of--Oh, wow. Yikes. I am not saying that. I'll just wing this for Avery's sake."
Liz cleared her throat.
"Jack, I met you almost six years ago. Since then, you've been my friend, my mentor, and the one person I could trust with everything. The way you could actually make me laugh, that spark of happiness in your voice whenever I come to see you, it's perfect. People say we're not a perfect match, but hey, opposites attract, right? So where I'm standing, right here, right now, I'm glad because I'll get to spend the rest of my life with you."
"Jack?" the captain asked.
"Elizabeth, I love you. Although I've already gone through marriage once, I know you're the right one. Meeting you wasn't an accident. Now, sometimes, you may be a pain, but that's the thing I love most about you. I can't figure out what you're gonna do next. You're spontaneous and bubbly. And I am proud to be the man you chose to spend the rest of your life with."
They put the rings on each other, and then the captain kept talking.
"And now, by the power vested in thee, I know pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Jack kissed Liz.
"Alright! Good rehearsal, everybody!  We'll see you tomorrow with the real bride!" Jack said.
"Jack? That was the real thing," the captain said.
"What are you talking about? This is rehearsal."
"You already have your rings. In rehearsal, you're not supposed to pass the rings."
Before Jack could reply, his phone started ringing.
"Hello?"
"Jack, it's Avery."
"Why did you call?"
"I called because...I planned the rehearsal to be a real wedding."
"What?!"
"I don't want to be married. I couldn't take it. I got Liz to fill me in, because I know you'll be happy with her."
"Well, what about the baby? Our baby?"
"I gave birth to it yesterday."
"That's--"
"I had an abortion. It wasn't your child. It was my boss's. I'm sorry if I lied to you. I hope you and Liz are happy."
Avery hung up.
"Hey, how's Avery?" Liz asked.
"The baby's dead. She had an abortion."
Liz's eyes started filling with tears.
"But, there's a good thing that came out of this."
Liz sat down, and Jack followed.
"What?"
"We're married. For real."
Liz looked at her ring.
"But we didn't even start dating yet."
"There's no going back now, you know. Plus, the reception is about to start. Avery planned all our favorite foods."
Jack wiped away Liz's tears and they headed to the reception.
