Pairing: Jack/Liz
Summary: "You're gonna have a baby brother or sister, sweetie."

Liddy gasped as she saw her dad's limo outside her school.
"Daddy!"
Jack smiled as he hugged his daughter.
"Where's Mommy?"
"She's at home, sweetie. We have big news for you. Now, come on. Get in the limo so we can go home."
Liddy walked in the limo and Jack told his driver the directions.
"I thought Auntie Jenna was going to pick me up!"
"No, honey. Mommy and Auntie Jenna had to stay late for work today."
"Daddy, are you and Mommy ever going to get married?"
Jack chuckled.
"Oh, pumpkin. Mommy and I have chosen not to get married, but I'll talk to her about it. We were married once before, you know."
Liddy looked at her weirdly.
"What do you mean? When you're married, isn't it supposed to last FOREVER?"
"It's supposed to be like that, but sometimes people stop loving each other. Your mommy and I accidentally got married when we weren't ready for it yet."
"Oh."
The rest of the ride home was quiet. That is, of course, until Jack's phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Did you pick up Liddy from school yet?"
"Yeah, she's sitting right next to me. You wanna talk to her?"
"Yeah, sure. Listen, I'd like to tell her now because I have a meeting in ten. I'm back at work."
"Is that Mommy? Is that Mommy?" Liddy asked.
"I'll put her on speaker for you, pumpkin."
Jack put Liz on speaker and Liddy started talking to no end.
"Liddy, I've got great news for you," Liz said.
"What is it, Mommy? What is it?"
"You're gonna have a baby brother or sister, sweetie!"
Liddy gasped.
"Really? No way! Can I feel your tummy later, Mommy?"
Liz chuckled.
"Of course you can, sweetheart. Now Mommy has to go because she has a very special meeting, okay? Bye, Liddy! I love you."
"I love you too, Mommy! I love you lots!"
Liz smiled, even though she knew they couldn't see her.
"Bye, Jacky. I'll see you tonight. Love you."
"Love you too, Liz. Now go to your meeting and knock 'em dead and meet me in our room tonight to...discuss personal matters."
He heard Liz chuckle before she hung up.
It was good to have a family like this. Liz liked it. Liddy went to school now and occasionally, Liz would take a day off to spend some time with Jack. She was having it all.
When she found out that she was pregnant, it was terrific news. Liz was getting her regular check-up before hiatus, and asked the doctor for other birth control options, since she kept forgetting to take the pill. The doctor smiled at her nicely and was about to write a prescription, until Liz changed her mind and decided to go with the pill again. The doctor prescribed it with her, but did a blood test just to be sure she wasn't pregnant already.
("Don't worry, I'm not pregnant!" Liz said.
"But, you do have a daughter, yes?"
"Oh, no, no. She's not my actual daughter. She's my long-term-boyfriend-short-term-husband's daughter."
"How interesting...would you like to tell me about it while the computer's generating the results?"
Liz smiled.
"Of course, doctor. My boyfriend-slash-husband's name is Jack. Jack had a girlfriend when we were just friends. She was pregnant. Unfortunately after I accidentally got married to Jack by a French captain when they thought that Jack married his girlfriend, she got held captive in North Korea. She is now currently Kim Jong Il's wife and is raising a beautiful American/Korean family. Jack and I were going to get our divorce papers signed, but there was always something distracting us. Eventually, we gave up. I moved into Jack's place to take care of Liddy and then we started to see each other more. I kissed him, he kissed me. You know how it goes. The end!"
"My, what an interesting story. Okay, you are..."
"I know," Liz smirked. "Not pregnant. You don't have to tell me."
"Actually, Miss Lemon, you are actually pregnant."
"Please repeat that."
The doctor showed Liz the papers.
"By the hammer of Thor!")
When Liz got home that night, Liddy ran up to her and hugged her.
"Where's my baby brother or sister?" Liddy asked, looking very disappointed.
"They're not here yet! They're still in mommy's stomach, growing."
"When will they come out?"
"Nine months from now, sweetie."
Liz saw Jack peeking out of their library.
"Hey, I didn't notice you were home," he said as he gave her a kiss.
"I just got here and I told Liddy all about her little brother or sister! Isn't that right, Liddy?"
Liddy nodded and smiled.
"Well, Daddy said I had to go whenever you guys are talking in your room tonight, so I'll be in my room."
Liz eyed Jack weirdly as he smirked.
"Yes, Liz. We do need to talk. Goodnight, Liddy."
Liz rolled her eyes as she sat up on the bed.
"What do we need to talk about?"
Jack sat behind her and kissed her neck.
"Just a talk...for the baby."
"Hang on."
Liz turned around to face Jack.
"What's wrong?" he asked her.
"I'm scared."
"Scared of what?"
"You know how a lot of things can go wrong with pregnancies? I feel like that's what might happen to me. I feel like the baby might not--"
Jack shushed her and let her cry on his shoulder for a little while.
"Don't worry. Nothing will happen to the baby. It's your first baby ever! Be excited."
Liz sniffled, then smiled.
"I am excited. Thanks."
Jack smiled back.
"Anytime. Now, how many weeks along are you?"
"Five," she said.
"Hmm."
"Five weeks ago! Oh my gosh. That was when I won the Emmy. We were in LA and Liddy was with Sherry. We had lots and lots and lots of sex that night, remember?"
Jack chuckled.
"Once in bed, twice in the shower and thrice on the table. Yes, I do remember that night quite well."
"Someone forgot to bring a condom that might," she said.
"Well, someone forgot to take her birth control pills. We're even, Liz Lemon."
Liz kissed him.
"You wanna replay that night?" she asked, with a sly smile on her face.
"I thought you'd never ask."
**
The next morning, Liz woke up to the sight of sunlight hitting her face. She looked up and noticed that Jack was looking at her with a smile on his face.
He kissed her forehead.
"Good morning," she said as she kissed him.
"Sleep well?" he asked her.
"Yeah. I was having a really good dream last night."
"Really? What about?"
"I dreamt that we were having sex all night," she said with a giggle.
"Really now? That's strange. I had the same dream."
"Hmm. How ironic."
"I do remember you saying, 'Oh man!' right after we finished. I assumed that was good?"
"Six times in one night, Jack. Obviously that was good."
Suddenly there was a knock on the door. The couple quickly put the covers up to their neck.
"Come in!" Jack said.
Liddy smiled as she entered the room.
"Good morning, sleepyheads! Why are you two so tired?" she asked.
"Me and Daddy had a very long talk last night."
"Can we go buy stuff for the baby?"
"Oh not yet, honey. We have to find out if you're having a brother or a sister."
"How long will that take?"
Liz chuckled.
"Oh, pumpkin. I promise it'll be soon."
Liddy smiled.
Just before Liz got up, Liz's phone started ringing.
"I'll get it!" Liddy yelled as she grabbed Liz's phone. She looked at the picture on the screen and saw the picture of Colleen.
"Gramma!"
Jack and Liz both froze. Why was Colleen calling them? Did she know?
"Hi, sweetheart. Is it okay if I talk to your mommy and daddy for a while?" Colleen asked her.
"Oh, sure. When are you coming back, Gramma?"
"Soon, dear. Very soon. I'll have presents for you."
"Yay! Bye, Gramma! Mommy! Gramma wants to talk to you and Daddy."
Liddy handed the phone to Liz and ran to the kitchen.
"Hello?"
Someone knocked on her door.
"Hang on, Colleen."
"URG. Jack, I need a shirt."
Jack grabbed his Princeton shirt from the floor as Liz put on her underwear.
Jack was looking at her the entire time.
"What?" she asked, chuckling.
"Oh, nothing. I just have a beautiful girlfriend."
"I'm your wife, remember that. You're not getting rid of me," she said, before kissing him.
"I don't plan on it."
Liz sat on his lap and the kiss started to get hot.
"No, Jacky. Not now. Your mother's on the phone and someone's knocking on the door."
Jack rolled his eyes.
"Elizabeth, you tease."
Liz kissed him again.
"I know. But you know you love it."
She got up and headed for the door.
"Hello, Colleen? Hang on. Someone's knocking. How--"
Liz opened the door and saw Colleen.
"I'm doing fine," she said with a smile.
"Honey, your mother's here!" Liz called out.
Liddy peeked to see who was at the door.
"GRAMMA!"
Liddy ran up to Colleen as fast as she could and practically attacked her with a hug.
"I'll go talk to Liddy. As I can see, you two are...very busy."
Liz chuckled nervously.
"Right. Well, I'm going to clean myself up. Jack will be in shortly."
"Oh, take your time. It's not like I'm in a hospital!"
Liz ran back to her room and searched for Jack.
"Jack? Honey, where are you?"
"I'm in here!" a voice in the bathroom said.
Liz ran to the bathroom and saw that Jack was shaving his face. He was starting to grow a mini-beard.
"How'd you get your hair to be like that?" she asked him.
It looked like he just got a haircut in under five minutes.
"It's a Donaghy family secret."
"Sheer willpower?" she suggested.
Jack chuckled.
"Maybe."
Liz walked out of their bathroom and put on her cupcake jammies.
She smiled at Jack, who was wearing a polo shirt and khaki pants.
"That's what you're going to wear to see my mother?"
Liz rolled her eyes.
"She's outside, Jack. She already saw me. No big deal."
Before Liz could open the door, Jack pinned her on it.
"Whoa, there. You okay?" she asked.
"I love you," he rasped.
Liz smiled.
"I love you too, Jack," and kissed him.
Jack pulled away. Apparently she didn't seem to understand.
"Liz, I LOVE you."
Liz chuckled.
"Jack, I know. I love you too."
Jack sighed and kissed her.
"What's wrong?" she asked him.
Jack kissed her again. This time, he smiled.
"Nothing. I'll tell you later."
Liz opened the door and made breakfast for her family and for Colleen.
When Liz set Jack's plate on the table, Jack smiled and thanked her by kissing her.
Liz chuckled.
"I love you," they both said to each other.
"Well! You two seem to love each other a lot," Colleen said, smiling.
Liz blushed.
After their breakfast, Jack told his mother that she was going to have a second grandchild. Colleen was pleased about this.
Also, before she left, he had a private talk with her.
Colleen gasped when she heard what he had just told her. She simply nodded, gave him what he wanted, and walked away.
Jack walked back in their house and saw Fallon, their maid-slash-nanny, taking care of Liddy.
"Fallon, I didn't realize you were here."
"Oh, hi, Mister Donaghy! No, I'm not here to be paid. I asked Miss Lemon if I could just spend a day with Liddy here, and she smiled and said yes."
"Actually, I do want you to stay here until later this evening."
"Oh. I'll be happy to do it. May I ask why?"
Jack lowered his voice and told Fallon what he was going to do this evening.
Fallon gasped.
"Yes, sir. I will stay here. Have a wonderful evening!," she said.
**
"You okay?" Jenna asked her on the phone.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Jack's inviting me to dinner today."
"Oh, cool!"
Liz chuckled.
"Yeah. It'll be fun. He seemed pretty excited."
"ALRIGHT EVERYBODY, GET READY," Liz heard on Jenna's end.
"Hey, Liz. I gotta go. I'll see you later okay?"
"Yeah, okay. Bye."
Liz hung up and looked for a dress.
"Hey, Fallon?"
"Yes, ma'am?"
"As an eighteen year old, which one of these dresses would you wear to a formal-slash-casual dinner?"
Fallon looked through her closet and chose the black-and-white dress. It was perfect.
She put on some make-up and straightened her hair.
"How do I look?" she asked Fallon.
Fallon gasped.
"You look beautiful, Miss Lemon."
Liz smiled.
"Bye, Liddy! Mommy's going to be here shortly. See you soon! Bye Fallon."
Fallon waved.
As Liz was on her way to her dinner, she received a text.
Jack: Almost here?
Liz: Yeah, I'm five minutes away. Where's this driver taking me?
Jack: Oh, you'll see. It's a surprise I know you'll love.
Liz: Does it involve food?
Jack: I'll see you later, Lizzie. Love you.
Liz: Urg. Ditto.
"We're here, Miss Lemon," the driver told her.
Liz got out of the car and thanked her driver. This building was funny-looking. She went inside and saw nothing. The room was pitch black.
"Jack?" Liz called out.
Suddenly, the lights turned on.
Liz saw everything. The band, the people, the big banner and most importantly, Jack.
He was down on one knee and the banner behind him said, "Elizabeth Lemon, will you marry me?"
She gasped.
"Is this real?" she asked him.
"As real as I can ever be. I've never been more sure of anything else in my life."
Liz looked around. She saw Jenna smiling at her. So this is where she was. Jenna actually kept a secret this time.
Liz gulped.
"If you say no, it's alright. I can wait," Jack said, smiling.
"No."
The people's smiles faded, and so did Jack's.
"No?"
"I don't want you to wait. Yes. I will marry you."
Jack's smile came back as he hugged Liz.
--
Nine months later:
"You may kiss the bride."
Just before their lips could touch, a cry was heard.
Liz chuckled. It was Ella, their baby daughter. Liz kissed Jack quickly and headed for the baby.
"Is she alright?" they both asked.
"She's fine, Jacky. Ella is alright. Now, go. Reception time!"
Jack and Liz both smiled at each other before a wave of applause erupted in the room.
"Let's go, Mrs. Donaghy, Jack said.
"After you, Mister Donaghy," she replied, smiling at their now-matching names.
